When Pride Whispers “I Know Best”

“Be not wise in thine own eyes: Fear the LORD, and depart from evil” (Proverbs 3:7 KJV).

Heavenly Father,

Help me not to be wise in my own eyes.

Keep me from relying on my own understanding or trusting in my own judgment.

Teach me to fear You—to hold You in holy reverence and awe.

Give me a heart that turns away from evil and walks in Your ways.

When pride rises up in me, humble me.

When I am tempted to lean on my own wisdom, draw me back to You.

Let Your Word guide my steps, and Your Spirit lead me away from every path that is not of You.

In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

To be spiritually minded is life and peace

 Heavenly Father,

Your Word says, “For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.”

Lord, I confess that too often my mind drifts toward the things of the flesh—worries, desires, distractions, and the temporary. I know that path leads only to emptiness and death.

Today I choose instead to set my mind on the Spirit. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit. Teach me to think on what is pure, true, and eternal. Let every thought be governed by You.

Where there has been death in my thinking, breathe Your life. Where there has been unrest, pour out Your perfect peace.

Help me walk moment by moment in the mind of the Spirit, so that I may truly live and know the deep peace that only You can give.

In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
